The challenge

What was in the way.

Fleet blind spots

Vehicle status lived in phone calls and guesswork. Dispatchers couldn't see location, load or hours-of-service, so failures surfaced only when customers called.

Connectivity dead zones

Routes crossed underground lots and rural corridors where signal dropped. Telemetry data was lost in the gaps, breaking the audit trail and ETA math.

The solution

How we solved it.

We built an offline-first telemetry platform: MQTT edge pipeline with store-and-forward sync, a Kafka streaming backbone, TimescaleDB time-series storage, and separate driver/dispatcher mobile apps sharing one data model.

We stopped finding out about problems from angry customers. Dispatch sees everything, even in the dead zones.

FAQ

About this engagement.

How did you handle dead zones?

Store-and-forward with conflict-safe sync once back online.

ELD compliant?

Yes - hours-of-service rules enforced, FMCSA-aligned.

Driver vs dispatcher UX?

Separate surfaces, one data model, offline-first both.
